It’s OK. I didn’t want to make this post today anyway...

I’ve been trying to work on my Aviation History posts, with similar issues. I try to link a picture (from Kinja) and it works for the first two or three. Then the next one fails to load--the gray box starts then disappears--and then I can’t schedule the post. I have to download the photos and insert them manually, then I have to copy everything into a new post to get it to save. I emailed support, but haven’t heard anything. This is a royal PITA.

So yes, when it comes back and says Return to Edit, do that. Then open a new window, create a new post, and copy/paste everything into the new editor. Then is should (might?) save.

Its been all kinds of mess lately. Still can’t login on mobile on Jalopnik. Format on oppo keeps switching back and forth (to say nothing of the stupid stories banner I can’t get rid of), about every third time I try and comment on a reply it puts a hashtag in the address takes me to the top of the page and doesn’t let me comment, the posts and replies aren’t saving, and Jalopnik is stalling and freezing constantly

Yeah, I’m running into the same issue with adding images to comments. I thought it was just gifs, but it’s doing it on any image file now.

Gotta do it the old fashioned way.

There’s been a “hilarious” bug that recently showed up where instead of failing to upload a picture in a reply
and reporting “image upload failed”, it continues to try to invisibly upload the pic and holds the reply
hostage. That may be related.

Yeah that has worked in the past. I’ve also had luck just starting a new post and it’ll ask if I want to recover my previous draft, but that appears not to be working these days.

That feature has saved my ass many times, when I have inadvertently closed something I was working on, or when the upload froze. I’m not brave enough to count on it now.
